Frequently Asked Questions About Renting A Condo Instead of a Hotel Room
Why Rent a Condo instead of a Hotel Room?
You get much more living space when you rent a Condo. Condos are fully furnished, privately owned and feature a living room, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, screened patio with 1, 2, 3 or 4 bedrooms. You get a much better value for your money with a condo rental.
What is the difference between a Condo and a Villa?
Condos and Villas are basically the same thing. It means all the living space and bedrooms are on one level. Town homes have the living space on one level and the bedrooms are on another level. Vacation Homes are houses that can be either one level or two.
At Legacy Dunes, Our units are Condos or Villa’s. The units are first, second and third floor but each unit itself is all on the same level.
I never rented a Condo before. What can I expect?
Besides more value for money? A Condo is individually owned and the owner has decided to rent it out to vacationers. A condo is what the industry calls self-catering. Self-catering refers to the fact that their is no house keeping or maid services during your stay. The condo is furnished, equipped, cleaned and set up for your vacation.
What do I need to bring?
That all depends on you! Some guests just like more space when they are on vacation. Some like to eat out for every meal and really do not plan on using the kitchen to prepare meals. But many do, so either way…..
Personal Belongings: Bring all the items you would normally need on vacation. Clothes, toiletries and gadgets.
Gonna Cook? We have the items to prepare the food, pots, pans, dishes, glasses, bowls, toaster, blender, coffee maker, etc. But you need to bring the food and beverages. What most guests do is go shopping when they arrive.
Do I have to clean while I’m on vacation?
A little! Self catering means that no one is coming and knocking on the door early in the morning and waking you up so that they can make the bed and pick up your wet towels. You have to do that! During your stay you will be responsible for keeping the condo neat and clean. All garbage and trash must be picked up and put out for pick up. If you use dishes and glasses, you must put them in the dishwasher and turn it on. Pots and pans must be cleaned if you use them. Washing towels is easy, just toss them in the wash and than into the dryer! After you leave and before you arrive a cleaning service will come in and clean the bathrooms, floors, linens, dust, vacuum etc. But it is your responsibility to maintain the cleanliness during your stay. Your contract will state that you have to leave the condo in the same condition as you found it. Please remember, this is someone else’s property. Please treat it with care and respect.
